DAZN & BBC to Broadcast BOXXER: Hennessy vs. Boutell
DAZN has secured global rights for BOXXER’s "The World Awaits" on Jan 31, streaming the WBC bantamweight eliminator between Francesca Hennessy and Ellie Boutell to 200+ territories. The event also airs free-to-air on the BBC, highlighting a new power partnership in British boxing's digital era.
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, DAZN acquired the global broadcasting rights for BOXXER’s The World Awaits event, headlined by Francesca Hennessy and Ellie Boutell. The deal brings the WBC bantamweight eliminator to DAZN subscribers across more than 200 territories, including Ireland and the United Kingdom. Additionally, the event will be available on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer in Ireland and the UK.
“We are delighted to be partnering with DAZN alongside our free-to-air partnership with the BBC," BOXXER CEO Ben Shalom said in a press release. "I believe that the BBC, together with the global home of boxing DAZN, can be a powerful combination in the sport for developing household names and creating a clear pathway for fighters in British boxing.’’
The global broadcasting deal was finalized months after BOXXER began a partnership with the BBC. Announced in August, the deal brings boxing to the network's various platforms, including BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and app, BBC Sounds and the BBC Sport social channels.
“Bringing professional boxing back to primetime BBC television, free-to-air, and to our extensive digital platforms is an exciting moment for us and for boxing fans," BBC Sport Director Alex Kay-Jelski said. "Boxing is a sport that we know deeply resonates with younger audiences, and this deal with BOXXER enables us to showcase the next generation of British fighters – delivering top-tier national boxing moments to all audiences, wherever and however they want it.”

As part of the partnership, Boxxer and the BBC have announced plans to air an undisputed welterweight title fight in April featuring Lauren Price and Stephanie Pineiro Aquino. The bout is scheduled for Saturday, April 4, at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff.
